Nashwauk Fire called and needed a cake for a retirement party for two of their members...so I figured why not bust out the cake tools and make something fun with rolled fondant frosting!
After a little research online I found a site on how to make a fire helmet cake by stuffing a plastic children's toy fire helmet with just baked cake and then freezing it. A couple hours, and a few pounds of homemade marshmallow fondant later I had a 100% edible fire helmet cake:)
This was a really fun cake to make I should start using fondant more often!
The hat part of the cake was so tall it stuck out of the box :)
